GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, near Oblong, IL.

AT MARIE’S REQUEST in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution  to the Northwest Arkansas Community College Nursing Program for nursing student needs.  Envelopes will be available at the graveside service or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home, PO Box 121, Oblong, IL  62449.

Anna Marie Haussermann, 82, of Lowell, AR died May 15, 2015.  Marie was born at Villa Grove, IL on June 12, 1932 to Elmer Bayard and Audry Jane (Ives) Halterman.  She was married to Eric Ford Haussermann on April 11, 1959.  He preceded her in death in July, 2009.  They were married 50 years.

Survivors include children: Norma L. White (Phillip) of Spokane, WA, John F. Haussermann (Heather) of Vinita, OK and Patricia (Patty) J. Outlaw (James) of Lowell, AR; five grandchildren, Kyle, Jack, Audry, Hannah and Jenna; and three siblings: Clarence W. Halterman (Josephine) of Snellville, GA, Martha Vanderhoof of Effingham, IL and Gladys P. Winterrowd of Oblong, IL.

Marie graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Urbana, IL in 1953 and the University of Illinois in 1958 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  She was active in the nursing profession more than 35 years in Illinois, Oklahoma, and Arkansas having served as a Staff Nurse, Surgery Supervisor, Nursing School Instructor, Director of Nursing Service, and State Surveyor inspecting hospitals for State Licensure.  Her love was for the operating room and the complexity of surgery.  She marveled over having seen the advancements of nursing and the care of patients over 35 years.  She retired in 1990 moving with her husband to Lowell where she enjoyed traveling, reading, and playing bridge ~ she was quite an accomplished bridge player.

She was a member of the James Bright Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution and the National Genealogical Society.
